Govt reserves jobs in J&K for domiciles; amends April 1 order after uproar

Centre had asked states to set up detention centres in 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2018: MHA sources

There are a total of 970 people in these detention centres of which 646 are males and 324 females, added the MHA sources. Women and men are kept in separate rooms and are given basic facilities. There have been no reports on incidents of rape of women. People are allowed to visit these centres to meet their acquaintances, further stated the MHA sources.

MHA orders withdrawal of 72 Central Armed Police Forces companies from Jammu and Kashmir

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday decided to withdraw 72 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) from the newly formed union territory of Jammu and Kashmir with immediate effect. The CAPFs include 24 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and 12 companies each of the Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
