The incident took place in the 18th over, with Shane Watson on strike. During the 3rd ball of the over, Andre Russel slowed down his run-up as he reached the umpire and looked like he wasn't going to deliver the ball.
Looking at the reduction in the all-rounder's speed, Watson eased his stance assuming the same.
However, Russell suddenly went on to complete the ball. The Aussie had no option but to shoulder arms.
Watto was infuriated with the right-armer's antics and went on the complain to the umpire.
But with Russell slowing down his run-up behind the umpire, there was no way he could have ruled the ball dead or illegal.
