By making his 304th appearance for England in the ODI tri-series against Australia, the 32-year-old went passed former wicketkeeper-batsman Alec Stewart who represented England on 303 occasions.

New Delhi: Pacer James Anderson on Friday reached another career milestone becoming England's most-capped cricketer in all formats. By making his 304th appearance for England in the ODI tri-series against Australia, the 32-year-old went passed former wicketkeeper-batsman Alec Stewart who represented England on 303 occasions.

England and Wales Cricket acknowledged Anderson's achievement and congratulated him through their official account on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The man who Anderson went passed, also heaped praise on the fast bowler, calling him one of England's greatest ever cricketers.

Former England captain Stewart played 133 Tests and 170 ODIs, while Anderson has 99 Test, 185 ODI and 19 T20 appearances to his credit.
