One-in-two-million! Rare blue lobster caught by fisherman in Scotland - In Pics

A Scottish fisherman caught a fish so rare that the chances of catching it are literally one in two million. Ricky Greenhowe, had caught the lobster weighing 3lb while out fishing off the coast of Aberdeen. He posted pictures of it on his social media, lets take a look!

As per reports, Greenhowe was on his fishing boat, Skua, when he spotted the striking-looking lobster. He said he had to pinch himself to believe that had caught something so rare.

Greenhowe plans to giving to an aquarium or putting it back in the waters. "I will phone Macduff Aquarium to see if they want it, if not I will put him back," he said.

"I have never seen one before, and I have been fishing since I was 14. It’s so rare, it would be a shame to put it in a pot," Greenhowe told BBC Scotland.

Blue lobsters are so-coloured because of a genetic abnormality that causes them to produce more of a certain protein than others, as per National Geographic.
