Here’s a quick look at the 10 most downloaded apps in January 2021

Telegram has become the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide for January 2021 with more than 63 million installs, 3.8 times its downloads in the same month a year ago, according to the latest data released by the app analytics firm Sensor Tower.

As WhatsApp struggles with its controversial privacy policies, it has led to a massive drop in its user base. Tapping on this, messaging platforms like Signal and Telegram have seen huge downloads in the last few months. Driven by a renewed surge in India amid WhatsApp privacy row, Telegram has become the most downloaded non-gaming app worldwide for January 2021 with more than 63 million installs, 3.8 times its downloads in the same month a year ago, according to the latest data released by the app analytics firm Sensor Tower.

The countries with the largest number of Telegram installs were India at 24 percent, followed by Indonesia at 10 percent.
