For Raje, filial love is above people, party: Gehlot

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday criticised former CM Vasundhara Raje saying her filial love for son Dushant Singh, a BJP MP, had prevented her from working for the people or even her own party.

Bundi, April 25: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot
on Saturday criticised former CM Vasundhara Raje saying her filial
love for son Dushant Singh, a BJP MP, had prevented her from
working for the people or even her own party.

Addressing an election meeting here in support of Congress
candidate Ijayaraj Singh from Kota-Bundi parliamentary seat,
Gehlot said Raje had always avoided sharing the grieve and
suffering of the people of the state as she was "restless and
overpowered by her filial love for Dhushant Singh.”

The chief minister also dismissed charges of Congress
being soft on terrorism, saying, "How can a wife and a son who
lost their mother in law and husband and grandmother and
father respectively be soft to terrorism that engulfed them?"

He praised former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and
credited the late leader with ushering the nation into the
modern age of communication revolution.

Listing out achievements of the UPA government, Gehlot
took credit for NREGS, loan waivers to farmers, appointment of
around 80,000 fresh teachers and 40,000 health workers under
the National Rural Health Mission in the state.

He charged the former BJP government with leaving debt of
Rs 35,000 crore and claimed Congress of doling out the state.

Gehlot also accused Raje of "conspiring" to create enmity
between the Meena and Gurjar communities of the state and
criticised inclusion of Colonel (Rtd) Kirori Singh Bainsla in
BJP.
