The School of Management Studies at IGNOU in collaboration with Financial Technologies (India) Limited, is launching a series of short-term and long-term programmes in the equity, bond markets and professional practices.

New Delhi, May 10: In a step towards addressing the growing needs of the financial markets, the School of Management Studies at Indira Gandhi National Open University in collaboration with Financial Technologies (India) Limited, Mumbai, is launching a series of short-term and long-term programmes in the equity, bond markets and professional practices in financial markets.

The agreement was signed in Mumbai by IGNOU Registrar US Tolia and Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Financial Technologies Ltd. Dr Jignesh Shah.

A one-year post-graduate diploma in financial markets practice will be launched as the first step from July 2009.

The course, which is practice-oriented, will be on a modular pattern, and can be upgraded to a master’s in financial administration (MBA) after undergoing one more year of study in various advanced specialisations.

“The coming together of these two institutions will mark a major step in expanding the reach and access of the education and knowledge on financial markets to many students and professionals across the country. Given the rapid growth of the financial sector in India, this endeavour would be of great significance in developing expertise and skill-sets that would further strengthen and sustain its pace of growth,” observed IGNOU Vice-Chancellor V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai on Saturday.
