Congress defeat an outcome of inflation, graft: Farooq

New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah said though the poll defeat is a jolt to the Congress that does not affect the National Conference from being a UPA ally.

New Delhi: New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Monday that the Congress`s colossal defeat in the recent Delhi assembly polls is the outcome of inflation, corruption and other anti-people activities during the 15 years` rule.
The verdict shows that Modi’s elevation has certainly helped the BJP, but at the same time sounded alarming bells for the Congress, as Rahul Gandhi’s extensive campaigning in the states have yielded no results.
He said though the poll defeat is a jolt to the Congress that does not affect the National Conference from being a UPA ally.

"We have been with the UPA in bad times and will continue to support them", said Farooq Abdullah.
