New York: Under sunny blue skies, key political officials and more than 200 VIPs from the local community attended the ground-breaking ceremonty of the first-of-its-kind Nature Cure/Ayurvedic wellness center here. Dr Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group and ZEE, addressed the dignitaries and the community as part of the ground-breaking ceremony on the first International Yoga Day in New York.
This major economic initiative for the county in addition to promoting health and wellness will be very instrumental in creating more job opportunities and overall economic development for the community at large.
The company, thus far, has invested $18 million and has committed $100 million dollar as planned for the first phase to turn the legendary Kutsher’s Country Club (Dirty Dancing fame) into a 260,000 square foot Nature Cure/Ayurvedic Wellness Center. This initiative is part of his total commitment to invest $250 million on the 5 pillars of wellness.
“We are so very proud to spread the energy and spirit of Yoga,” said Dr Subhash Chandra . “We have learned the harmony and wonders of this spiritual discipline, and with June 21st being recognized internationally for one of India’s gifts, it is the perfect day to break ground on our new Center. It will bring peace, harmony, jobs and a boost to the economy of this region.”
Dr Chandra further added, “The ancient Indian practice of Yoga nurtures the mind, working through the medium of the body. Yoga enhances the body and soul with additional strength, zeal and beauty. It is a beautiful act of nurturing the divinity within you. I strongly believe that it is a gift to all of us, and it is essential that we work towards making it a mass movement globally. I am confident that the International Yoga Day which our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has initiated will have a strong impact on humanity.”
