Patna, Jan 06: Acting on the directives of the
Election Commission, the railways has imposed a penalty of Rs
28,000 on Railway Minister Laloo Prasad's RJD for defacing
public property at its premises in Patna and Hajipur by
putting up posters, banners and hoardings.

The notice sent to Bihar RJD president Abdul Bari

Railway (ECR) zonal office by January 13, ECR chief public
relations officer A K Chandra told newspersons here today.

While a fine of Rs 15,000 has been earmarked as charges
for removing the posters, banners and hoardings, which were
put up for the December 23 rally, which was subsequently
called off, and cleaning the walls of Patna junction railway
station, the rest Rs 13,000 is earmarked for Hajipur station,
he said.

Similar notices have been sent to LJP and BJP state
headquarters asking the two parties to pay penalty of Rs 2000

stations during their rallies held here in November and
December.

Election Commission had directed railways and other
concerned agencies to realise fines from the RJD, LJP and BJP
following the report of its advisor K J Rao.

Rao during his Bihar visit on December 20 had found a
large number of posters, banners and hoardings put up by
supporters of the three parties at railway premises at Patna
and Hajipur.
