New Delhi, Jan 05: With a forensic test clearing former Miss Jammu Anara Gupta in the porn CD case, National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Poornima Avani on Wednesday said she would write to Home Minister Shivraj Patil, asking for stern action against the police officials concerned.

"I will write to the Home Minister to ensure that strict action is taken against the police officials concerned," Advani said.

She noted that if the girl in the film was not Anara, producing the CD in court as depicting the former Miss Jammu amounted to fabricating evidence before the court of law.

"Raj Rani, Anara's mother, had approached the Commission and told us that the case was that of a CD gang, misusing her daughter's name to sell the pornographic film. She said Anara was a number one actress in the region," Advani said.

The NCW Chairperson also said that the issue was not only about Anara and that "there are many more Anaras. There are gangs, exploiting women for petty commercial interest."

Anara's mother had approached the Commission asking for a CBI probe into the case on December 25, following which Advani wrote to the Home Minister to ensure a "proper probe."

Recalling her meeting with Raj Rani, Advani said, "Raj Rani told us how the entire family suffered a setback because of the case, how Anara's profession took a setback and how the case put a blot on the family dignity."

The Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad on Wednesday said the pornographic CD sent by Jammu and Kashmir Police "did not" contain pictures of Anara.
