Ranchi, Jan 06: Senior BJP leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi was booked by Dhanbad district administration for allegedly violating the model code of conduct.
Dhanbad Police Superintendent A K Singh said Marandi and two other leaders had organised a party meeting in a government accommodation yesterday.
An FIR was lodged with Dhanbad Sadar Police Station against Marandi, Praveen Singh and Raj Sinha, he said.
Meanwhile, the East Singhbhum administration has reportedly ordered a magisterial probe into the alleged violation of the model code for election by Sudam Marandi, JMM MP.
During a visit to Jamshedpur on December 31, Marandi, who represents Mayurbhanj in Orissa in Parliament, had allegedly used his beacon light fitted vehicle.
