Jammu, Jan 07: Emphasising on people-to-people
contacts for opening trade links between India and Pakistan,
the Jammu and Kashmir government today proposed opening of the
road link between the two nations.

J&K Minister of Revenue and Rehabilitation, Hakeem
Mohammad Yaseen said visa procedure should be liberalised
because this would help in cementing people-to-people ties.

Exchange visits between the two countries must include
traders and educationists, Yaseen said during an interaction
with a 14-member joint India-Pakistan peace and goodwill
mission here yesterday.

Yaseen has advocated setting up a time frame for
reaching a resolution of Kashmir issue and involvement of
elected representatives, irrespective of their political
affiliations in the peace talks, as promised by former Prime
Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He said that fifteen-year long violence and turmoil
must now come to an end and peace must be given a chance.

He further added that government is also making
efforts for safe return of Kashmiri Pandit migrants to valley
as this is essential in restoring a composite culture of the
state.
