Mumbai, April 27: Just when his smothering hot lady Bipasha Basu was being dubbed as being a jealous possessive girlfriend, John Abraham has come to her defence refuting all such claims as baseless. Thrashing gossip mills for terming Bips as insecure, the dishy actor has gone on record to state that his real life-leading lady is strong and secure.
Ever since the reports surfaced that John was one of the top contenders for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Cheenab Gandhi’ but had to turn down the plum offer because of Vidya’s presence in the flick, Bips had been termed as `insecure`.
But now the actor has retorted to all such claims as he states that he was never even offered the film.
Speaking to a news daily, the actor said, “I definitely met Bhansali sometime ago and we spoke about working together in future. But Chenab Gandhi did not figure in the discussion at all.”
Since the time John romanced dusky lass Vidya Balan in ‘Salaam-e-Ishq’, gossipmongers have been whispering about a reported connection between the two. From hush-hush whispers to clear bold headlines, the reported proximity of Vidya and John had left cracks in Bips-John’s love paradise.
So much so was the Bong bombshell irked by such claims that she had allegedly asked her beau to maintain a safe distance from Balan, restricting him from sharing screen with her.
Loyally sticking to his end of the bargain, John had been keeping miles away from Balan. But when the lad turned down Bhansali his fans opened attack on Bips.
However with air finally cleared over this `insecure` controversy we are sure John`s got the smile back on Bips lips.
