Domestic help detained in Santacruz double murder case

Two persons have been detained in connection with double murder case in which an elderly woman and her grandson were found murdered at their residence in Santacruz, a senior police official said on Tuesday.

and her grandson were found murdered at their residence in
Santacruz, a senior police official said on Tuesday.

The domestic help of the house, who hails from Nepal,
is one among the detainees, he said, adding she has not been
arrested so far.

Seventy-year-old Usha Parekh and her grandson Harsh (12) were
found murdered at their second-floor residence in Shobha
building yesterday.

Suspected to have been suffocated to death, the victims'
hands and feet were found tied. The accused had gagged Usha
before murdering her, police had said.

Robbery was suspected to be the motive behind the murders
as cash worth Rs 4 lakh and jewellery estimated at Rs 12 lakh
value kept in the house was found to have been stolen, they
added.
