Mumbai, Apr 29: DaimlerChrysler is conducting a test drive of 'C' class Mercedes-Benz with bio-diesel as fuel in partnership with the Indian Council for Scientific and Industrial Research and Germany's University of Hohenheirn.
The car has already travelled over 3,500 km across southern India and is now set to traverse north, including Delhi as part of DaimlerChrysler's test trial of bio-diesel as fuel, CEO and managing director Hans-Michael Huber told newsmen here today.
The car is powered by bio-diesel fuel created from extracts of the "jatropha" plant, he said adding that the
vehicle was environment friendly and emits minimal pollutants. The project was initiated in august last year and today reached the city after completing the south phase and would traverse another 5,000 kms before reaching Delhi.
