Jammu, Oct 08: A policeman was killed and two others, including an officer, were injured when militants attacked a police vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district, officials said today.
A team of the India reserve police was returning after disbursing pay among policemen posted at remote pickets in the area when militants lobbed a grenade on its vehicle and fired indiscriminately at Moori top in Gool tehsil of Udhampur district last night, they said.
Head constable Gulzar Ahmed was killed on spot and Assistant Sub-Inspector Dhuni Chand and constable Nissar Ahmed were injured critically, they said.
The militants escaped before additional security forces reached the spot.
On Friday night, militants attacked a police residential colony's guard post in Rajouri town and injured a policeman.
