Alliance plane makes emergency landing

New Delhi, Jan 06: A Delhi-bound Alliance aeroplane carrying army troops from Leh made an emergency landing at the Indira Gandhi Airport this evening after one of its tyres got burst.

Boeing 737-200 landed at the airport after its pilot
captain Pradeep Mishra conveyed to the air traffic control
that one of its tyres had de-capped, airport sources said.

The airport authorities took all precautionary measures
and fire brigades were lined up along the runway when the
plane landed at the airport at 1740 hours, they said.

The sources said some pieces of the tyre were found at
the Leh tarmac after it took off from the Leh airport this
afternoon.
