New Delhi, Jan 24: L K Advani, a proud father, held the stage and the politician in him took the back seat at a special screening of a documentary film on cinema's role in promoting patriotism made by daughter Pratibha at his residence here this evening.
Among those who graced the occasion were former Prime Minister I K Gujral and wife Sheila, Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Sports Minister
Sunil Dutt, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker C S Atwal and Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh.
Donning the role of a compere, Advani told the gathering that the documentary 'Ananya Bharati - a cinematic tribute to the motherland' was made by his television anchor producer daughter for Doordarshan in two parts.
The BJP chief said he realised the difficulties involved in the making of a film during the making of the documentary, which was shot in the backyard of his official residence. "The last shooting I saw was during my childhood", he said.
