Mumbai, Jan 24: A special court today allowed the producers of the movie `Black Friday` to withdraw the words "true story of 1993 Bombay bomb blasts" from the promos, advertisements and hoardings of the film slated for release on January 28.
Designated judge P D Kode discharged notices issued to the producers after they unconditionally withdrew the words "true story of 1993 bomb blasts" from all publicity material of the film.

Hearing the objection of 36 bomb blast accused to these words, the court asked the producers to undertake due precaution while releasing the film.

It opined that the judgment in the bomb blast case was yet to be delivered and it was not proper for the filmmakers to describe the film as the "true story of 1993 bomb blast case."

The producers gave an undertaking that the words would be withdrawn from the promos today itself and from the media advertisements tomorrow.

The producers appeared before the court today in response to the notices issued against them.

The court, on January 20, had issued notices to presenter Jhamu Sugandh, producer Arindam Mitra and director Anurag Kashyap to appear in person and explain why action should not be taken against them for calling the movie "the true story of Bombay bomb blasts."

Notice was also issued to the editor and publisher of eveninger `Mid-Day`, which is launching the film and has carried advertisements stating that it was the true story of the blasts.

Counsel for the accused, Majeed Memon and Farhana Shah, argued that the judgment in the case was due in short time and the screening of the movie before it may cause unnecessary repercussions and may also lead to prejudice in the mind of the court.

About 86 accused, including filmstar Sanjay Dutt, are on bail while 36 people are in judicial custody and lodged in central prison here. The trial has concluded but the court is yet to give its verdict.
