New Delhi: Record breaking Chrsi Gayle brought the roof down at Rajkot on Tuesday when the Royal Challenegers Bangalore opener produced a virtusou performance replete with epic celebration.
Put into bat first by the Gujarat Lions captain Suresh Raina, the visitors got off to a cautious start with openers Gayle and Virat Kohli playing with extra caution.
But once Gayle set his eye in, the Universe Boss started toying with the Lions bowlers. He, in the process, became the first man to breach the 10000-run mark in Twenty20 cricket.
The 37-year-old reached his fifty with a huge six of the bowling of Shivil Kaushik, in the 10th over. The 104m-long six was probably the biggest of the season so far, even eclipsing the one hit by Mahendra Singh Dhoni last Sunday.
He, then, celebrated in epic style, mimicking a snake. And it sure was the moment the home side knew what 'bit' them. WATCH it here:
