New Delhi: It was rather a dull day in Mahendra Singh Dhoni's life. He failed to make an impact as Rising Pune Supergiant were humbled by Kings XI Punjab in the second match of the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Indore.

Dhoni, however, reaped rewards for his long and arduous work by becoming the first Indian player to play in 250 Twenty20 cricket matches.

He made T20 debut against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2006. In 250 games, the 35-year-old has scored 5,068 runs.

Often regarded as one of the greatest captains, Dhoni helped India win the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa.

Besides the Indian team, he has played for the now banned Chennai Super Kings, state sides Jharkhand and before that, for Bihar.

His long time team-mate Suresh Raina is second in the least with with 246 appearances.
