New Delhi: Chris Gayle on Tuesday became the first player to breach the 10000-run mark in Twenty20 cricket, when he led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a massive 213-run total against the Gujarat Lions in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Rajkot.
Opening the innings for RCB, the 37-year-old from Kingston, Jamaica took a single off the third ball of the fourth over of the bowling Basil Thampi to reach the milestone. He went on to make 77 off 38 balls with five fours and seven sixes, and he now has 10,074 runs in T20.
