New Delhi: Troubled SpiceJet that resumed operations yesterday is running extra flights to accomodate the backlog of passengers in Goa and Port Blair destinations.
The airline in its website has displayed, "SpiceJet operations are back to normal. Our bookings are now open until 28th March 2015."
In the last couple of days, the low-cost airline has witnessed chaos as hundreds of passengers cancelled their tickets and shifted to other airlines due to uncertainty plaguing its services.
Following cancellation of SpiceJet flights, the demand for tickets of other airlines generated by SpiceJet's cancellations led the prices to skyrocket, with one-way Delhi-Mumbai fares rising by an average of 45 per cent to Rs 14,484 as against Rs 9,995 in December last year.
Similarly, Delhi-Bangalore fares shot up by 57 percent to Rs 17,570 from Rs 11,189 a year ago, travel agencies and portals said.
However, prices are now coming back to normal rates, backed by confidence that the airline will now continue to fly passengers to their respective destinations.
