It's that time of the year again when fans of Apple Inc will be looking forward to new products such as iPhones, iPad, or TV during the much anticipated iPhone 6s launch event on Wednesday, September 9, at San Francisco.
Apple says the Sept. 9 event will be held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in downtown San Francisco.
Over the last nine months since the launch of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the US tech giant has reportedly sold a record 183 million iPhones which have help the company earn record profits.
As another Apple Inc event draws near, expectations are high and the tech world is abuzz that the company will launch new products.
So, “Hey Siri, give us a hint”...
New iPhones:
Perhaps, the worst-kept secret or a marketing strategy, the biggest buzz doing the rounds is the release of new iPhones. Yes! You heard it right – iPhones, for it could be two iPhones. As was with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, rumour has it that Apple will be launching the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. And they could both come with the same dimensions as its predecessors.
The new iPhones, as rumour has it, are expected to come with an upgraded 12MP camera and a "Force Touch," feature which uses screen sensors to discern between a light tap and extended finger pressure to trigger different functions.
Smarter Siri?
“Hey Siri, give us a hint”, went out the invitation from Apple during its media invite on August 27. Only if the virtual voice assistant could really give us a hint as to what the new products would be.
Nevertheless, as rumour has it, a smarter Siri is one of the main products to be unveiled during the September 9 media event.
iPad Pro:
Apple is expected to come out with a bigger and better iPad, the iPad Pro. According to reports on 9to5Mac, the iPad Pro will have a 12.9-inch screen size and will run two full iPad portrait size apps side-by-side.
2GB RAM and faster LTE?
Apple is likely to do away with its 1GB RAM and come up with a stronger and faster 2GB RAM for the new iPhones. However, this will only be confirmed when the iPhones are launch on September 9.
Moreover, it is likely that the new iPhones will come with a “new Qualcomm-made LTE chip” which can deliver double the speed offered by the LTE on current iPhones.
Apple TV:
Not so much in real TV, say reports but a TV product which some say is an upgrade to its set-top box.
According to a New York Times report, it will have more power for better graphics, a remote that will also be the controller and a new app store for the Apple TV.
The set-top box is also likely to feature a universal search, says report which would allow users to search for content across multiple sources, access to the App Store and allow voice control through the Siri digital assistant.
