Former military ruler Pervez Musharraf's body to be buried in Pakistan
Former Pakistan President and military ruler Pervez Musharraf's body will be shifted to Pakistan for burial. Musharraf died on Sunday (February 5) in Dubai. Pakistan's Consulate General in Dubai issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for his mortal remains to be transported to his nation as per a PTI report.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor condoles Pervez Musharraf's demise
Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, on Sunday (February 5), condoled the death of former Pakistan military ruler Pervez Musharraf. Taking to Twitter, Tharoor wrote, "Pervez Musharraf, Former Pakistani President, Dies of Rare Disease: once an implacable foe of India, he became a real force for peace 2002-2007. I met him annually in those days at the @un &found him smart, engaging & clear in his strategic thinking. RIP."

Pervez Musharraf was only Pakistani General who genuinely tried to address Kashmir issue: Mehbooba Mufti
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the death of Pervez Musharraf. She said that Musharraf was the "only Pakistani General" who genuinely tried to address the Kashmir issue.
"He wanted a solution according to the wishes of the people of J&K, and acceptable to India and Pakistan," she said.

Pakistan's ex-military ruler Pervez Musharraf was born in Delhi
Pervez Musharraf news: Pakistan's former military ruler General (retd.) Pervez Musharraf was born on August 11, 1943, in Delhi.
His family had moved from the Indian capital to Karachi in 1947.
He joined the Pakistan Army in 1964 and was a graduate of the Army Staff and Command College, Quetta.

Pervez Musharraf death: Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf was the main architect of the Kargil War in 1999, which took place months after then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif signed a historic peace accord with his Indian counterpart Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Lahore.
After Pakistan's defeat in Kargil, Musharraf deposed the then Prime Minister Sharif in a bloodless coup in 1999 and ruled Pakistan from 1999 to 2008 in various positions -- first as the chief executive of Pakistan and later as the President.

General (retd) Musharraf, who was living in the UAE since 2016, had been undergoing treatment at the American Hospital Dubai.
