Man killed, another critically injured while taking selfie in West Bengal's Nadia

A man was killed and his friend critically injured on Tuesday after a train hit them while taking a selfie near a railway crossing in Kalyani in Nadia district, a GRP official said.

Kalyani: A man was killed and his friend critically injured on Tuesday after a train hit them while taking a selfie near a railway crossing in Kalyani in Nadia district, a GRP official said.

Both of them were celebrating Mahalaya by bursting crackers and taking selfies, when a Sealdah-bound train hit them, the official said.

Rakesh Triguna (21) was killed on the spot, and his friend Sooraj Mondal (15) has been admitted to the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital in the district with serious injuries, he said.

Triguna, a resident of Bihar, had come to Kalyani for his father's treatment, while Mondal is a student of class 9 in a local school.
