Karachi: A video of a fatal collision between two cargo ships at the Karachi seaport in southern Pakistan has now gone viral on the social media.

The video was taken by a dock worker in Karachi.

The 3.31-minute long video clip shows a Hapeg-Lloyd’s ship carrying transit-containers crashing into a stationary Hamburg Bay ship alongside South Asia Port Terminal Limited.

According to the Pakistani media, the incident took place on March 19. Due to the impact of the collision, around 21 containers, said to be carrying imported cars, fell into the Arabian sea and went missing.

Due to the collision, the Karachi seaport - which is one of the largest ports in South Asia – was shut down by the authorities for some time.

No one was injured in the incident, the Pakistani media reported. The authorities, however, said that an assessment of the damage done by the collision of the two cargo ships will be done.
