Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary being celebrated as National Youth Day
The world celebrates January 12 as National Youth Day, the birth anniversary of the great monk Swami Vivekananda, who worked for the betterment of society. Born in Kolkata on January 12, 1863, Swami played a very important role in the revival of Hinduism in India.
