Cow "cess" is Yogi government's new idea to tackle stray cattle in Uttar Pradesh
The BJP government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to introduce an additional levy of 0.5% as cow welfare cess on eight profit-making public sector infrastructure companies to fund the construction and maintenance of cow shelters.
