Agreement between police and protesters
In signs of truce between the Uttar Pradesh government and farmers over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence that left eight people, including four farmers, dead on Sunday, the state police announced an ex gratia of Rs 45 lakh for the kin of each of the deceased and Rs 10 lakh each for the injured.
