UP CM Yogi Adityanath presents 6-month report card: Key highlights

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday presented his report card on completion of six months of his government in the state.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, CM Aditynath spoke on a number of issues like farmer's debt waiver and law and order in the state.

Here's what all the Chief Minister said:

- We are launching systematic drive which will help govt retrieve 1000 hectares of land which have been in grips of land mafia since years.

- It was priority to rid UP of jungle raj. Happy that hard work by ministers has instilled sense of confidence in people

- After March 2017, there hasn't been a single incident of riot. Prior to that, we had seen cases of riots taking place in the state.

- Our revenue department brought in a good initiative. If permitted to link  property registration (khatian) to Aadhaar there won't be false registry or any fraud.

- We have ushered in a new style of politics which is development oriented and focussed on youngsters.

- It was for the first time in 15 years that Uttar Pradesh had a government which was "bereft of casteism and dynastic politics".

- More than 430 police encounters have taken place in the past six months in which many criminals have been killed. Another 1,106 criminals have also been arrested.

- In the police encounters, 88 policemen were injured and one sub-inspector killed.

- Ill-gotten property of 668 infamous criminals worth several crores had been seized by the police under the Gangsters Act, while property worth Rs 33 crore belonging to the land mafia has been confiscated by law enforcement agencies.

- There was a time under the previous government when police officials were scared to act against criminals as they feared reprimand from the powers that be

- The state government had accorded top priority to the agriculture sector and farmers and cited the crop loan waiver as an example of prioritising farmers interests.

- So far loans of 86 lakh farmers of various amounts upto Rs 1 lakh have been waived by his government.
