Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections: Left announces first set of candidates

The Left Front on Sunday announced its first list of 105 candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

New Delhi: The Left Front on Sunday announced its first list of 105 candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

According to an official statement, of the 105 seats, Communist Party of India will contest in 58, the Communist Party of India-Maxist in 18, the Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist in 17, the All India Forward Bloc in 7 seats and the Socialist Unity Centre of India in five seats. 

"The Left Parties will fight together for providing an alternative to the people. The inefficient regimes both in the state and at the Centre has followed anti-people approaches. The Left will fight to ensure more employment, no corruption, safeguarding constitutional rights and ensuring peace in the state by defeating divisive agenda of the RSS-BJP," the Front said.
