Aligarh: Two groups clashed in Uttar Pradesh's Khurrampur village here on Saturday over the construction of a toilet on a private land, an official said.
The clashes erupted when one of the groups tried to demolish the structure built on the privately owned land. One person was seriously injured.
The owner had bought the plot about 7-8 years ago and had complained about the structure built long back, the Aligarh District Magistrate told reporters.
“Investigation was conducted earlier and it was found that it was built long back. It can be removed after directions from the court,” he added.
The police had to open fire in the air to disperse the crowd.
