Kapil Sharma ready for a pay cut to keep comedy show running?

Mumbai: The makers of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ are reportedly unhappy with the programme’s plunging TRPs. There were reports suggesting that the show could go off air but there’s also a strong buzz hinting at an extension being given to the show owing to the delay in Salman Khan’s ‘Dus Ka Dum’.

However, if the latest report is anything to go by, then the star comedian has taken a huge pay cut in order to keep his show on air.

According to a report in dnaindia.com, Kapil, who was supposed to strike a Rs 110 crore deal with the channel, had no choice but settle for a pay cut.

“There is no other way Kapil can keep up with his show. The film offers he has in hand won't get him the money he's making from his comedy show. So he had to agree. It wasn't a yes or no, it had to be yes,” dnaindia.com quoted a source as saying.

TKSS hasn’t been performing well since Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Kiku Sharda quit the show about 3 months back. Despite having new artists on board, TKSS has reportedly failed to live up to the expectations.
