New Delhi: Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has unveiled the global version of its operating system MIUI 9 that includes new features designed for India.
MIUI is Xiaomi's very own user interface based on Android. The MIUI 9 will start rolling out from 3rd November.

Key Highlights of MIUI 9
- Mi Drop allows seamless transfer of files between devices without requiring an internet connection.
- Supports 3 major style notifications viz. Multiple Styles, Bundling Notifications & Quick Replies.
- Split Screen allows you to run 2 apps simultaneously on the same screen.
- Remove any unwanted objects from your photo with all new magical Smart Photo Editing tool.
- A brand new Mi Video App with lots of features now supports all popular formats and comes with auto grouping function.
- IRCTC Card recognizes a generally cluttered SMS PNR and turns it into a card with all information on it.
- Indian Calendar app comes with subscription cards like Indian festivals cards, panchang calendar and much more.
- Add special and fun stickers to your photos.

Xiaomi said that it expects 30 percent of its sales in India to come through offline stores by this year-end.
The company, which forayed into the Indian market by selling its handsets online only, has been gradually ramping up its offline presence through partners.
