New Delhi: The first beta of Xiaomi's MIUI 9 will be made available on Friday. However, this will be specific to China Developer ROM which is not to be confused with Global ROM rollout.
Xiaomi launched the new version of its custom user interface - MIUI 9 at an event in Beijing, China last month.
Xiaomi Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Redmi Note 4X will recieve the first China Developer ROM.
The second phase of the MIUI 9 China Developer ROM rollout will begin on August 25. The following phones will get it

MIUI 9, based on Android Nougat 7.0, comes with three key features - Image search, Smart assistant, and Smart app launcher. All these features are aimed at ensuring smoother user experience.
Image search
This feature allows you to search the images by keywords of what is in the picture.
Smart app launcher
It launches an app, based on screen contents. It can open Maps if you are talking about going somewhere or help you read more about an artist if you are reading an article on him.
Smart assistant
It can let you search anything on your phone from photos to text. It can help you bring up the search along with app suggestions, news and other customisable widgets. Once the ROM rolls out globally, it can be easily compared to Google Assistant.
