In a shocking turn of events, a woman named Tanna Barker from San Francisco absentmindedly ingested her Apple AirPod, mistaking it for a vitamin tablet. In a TikTok video that has now gone viral, Barker confessed to the bizarre mishap, which has completely lett netizens wondering about the fate of the woman and the AirPod.
As per media reports, Barker was out for a walk with a friend, trying to have a conversation. To hear more clearly, she removed one of the earbuds from her ear and What happened thereafter left everyone in suspense.
Barker, thought she was taking her vitamins, and accidentally placed the AirPod in her mouth. It wasn't until she realized that the vitamins were still in her hand that panic set in.
As she described it, "Halfway through my walk, I decided to take my vitamins, so I put my vitamins in, took a drink, and I was like, man, those are stuck."
She even tried guzzling water in a desperate attempt to ease the situation. After saying goodbye to her friend, Kathleen, Barker rushed to retrieve her AirPods, only to discover that her pills were in her hand, and she had indeed swallowed her AirPod.
Barker sought advice from doctors and friends, all of whom advised her to let the AirPod pass naturally. Fortunately, she seems to be doing well, even finding moments to laugh at her own misadventure.
Airpod ingesting have been quite common in the past too with incidents such as another US woman accidentally swallowing an AirPod, thinking it to be a vitamin. The funny or surprising part was that the AirPod continued to function, recording voice notes and capturing the sounds from within her stomach.
