Mumbai, Jan 30: Filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj is one star maker. The director, who turned heroines like Tabu and Kareena into critically-acclaimed actresses; getting them to deliver award-winning performances in ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Omkara’, is now gearing up to work with his dream actress, Padma Shri Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Even though Aishwaya is much criticised for her lackluster performances but that has not stopped Vishal from pursuing the actress. Apparently, the two have had a pact for years now, whereby Ash had promised him that she would act in one of his films.
Speaking to a news daily, the gorgeous lady said, “Vishal and I have wanted to work together ever since he was the music composer on a project that got shelved. We had promised one another that I would star in his film whenever he turned director.”
The director had reportedly offered Ash, a film called ‘Timbuctoo’, right after his directorial debut in the children’s film ‘Makdee’ (2002), but that got shelved.
Talking of Vishal’s cinematic genius, Aishwarya said, “I was very impressed by Vishal’s work. But he insisted that we would work together only when he found absolutely the right project. That has finally happened. Vishal has bounced the script off me. And we both feel this is the right project for us to come together.”
Even as the two have signed on the dotted line, the project will begin only at the end of this year. However, with Vishal’s talent and Ash’s beauty, we are sure the two will put up quite a show.
