A wild elephant was seen in residential areas of Palayam village in Coimbatore. Some areas in Coimbatore rural have reportedly witnessed the movement of elephants in residential areas since Tuesday.
A high movement of wild elephants is being seen due to the beginning of the migration and harvesting season.

In a separate incident, an 80-year-old woman was attacked by a wild elephant in Coimbatore on Tuesday night. She later succumbed to her injuries.
A 70-year-old resident of Kasthuripalayam was also injured after being attacked by a wild elephant.
Recently, a CCTV video had emerged from Coimbatore's Periyanaickenpalayam where an elephant could be seen entering a house in search of food. The elephant entered the house but soon left without causing any damage.
The footage was reportedly recorded on the night of November 30. Seeing the door of the house open, the calf had entered the house. A car and two bikes could also be seen in the video.
