India has so far reported nine cases of monkeypox including one death. A 31-year-old woman tested positive for Monkeypox in the national capital on Wednesday. This is the first case of the disease among women in the country. Out of the total of nine cases, four cases are from Delhi while the remaining five have been reported from Kerala.

9% drop in new Covid-19 cases globally last week, deaths stable: WHO

The UN Health agency said there were 6.5 million cases reported last week with more than 14,000 deaths. WHO said the number of new cases fell 35% in Europe but increased about 20% in the Western Pacific and 5% in Africa. Deaths rose 44% in the Western Pacific and 26% in the Middle East while falling about a quarter in Europe.
