Govt should not allow backdoor entry to Big Tech for 5G: COAI
The Cellular Operators Association of India, the industry's apex body representing telcos, on Thursday urged the government not to allow Big Tech companies to enter the 5G spectrum auction this month via back-door channels.

DoT permits telcos to go ahead with 5G trials in India, Chinese vendors kept out
The permissions have been given by the DoT as per the priorities and technology partners identified by TSPs themselves. The experimental spectrum is being given in various bands which include the mid-band (3.2 GHz to 3.67 GHz), millimetre wave band (24.25 GHz to 28.5 GHz) and in sub-Gigahertz band (700 GHz).
