India: COVID Third Wave likely to arrive in October, NIDM sends report to PMO

A committee of experts constituted under the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) has warned of a possible third wave of COVID-19, which may reach its peak around October in India. NIDM called for better medical preparedness for children who may be at the same risk as adults were infected in the second wave.

India: Rapidly surge observed in COVID-19 cases, more cases reported in Kerala

India recorded over 43,000 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, significantly higher than the 132-day low seen a day earlier. On Wednesday, the positivity rate also increased to 2.5% from Tuesday's 1.8%. Especially Kerala, which is much ahead of other states in surging cases.

No reason to believe children will be severely affected in third Covid wave: Dr NK Arora

Some experts are highlighting the need for preparation warning that children could be affected by the third wave more than adults. AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria has also said there was no indication that children will be severely or more affected in the third wave of the pandemic.
