The Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday decided to scrap a controversial law passed by the earlier SAD-BJP government to facilitate the setting up of a new university on the Khalsa College campus in Amritsar.

Punjab announces reservation for women, dumps VIP culture
The new Punjab Cabinet in its maiden meeting here on Saturday announced reservation for women in jobs and urban and rural local bodies and an end to use of red beacons on official vehicles by the Chief Minister, ministers, legislators and officers.
