TSRTC protest: Seven policemen injured in stone-pelting, over 1200 people arrested so far

According to the police, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of TSRTC employees supported by some frontal organisations of Maoists and their friendly organisations like PDSU, RSU and opposition political parties had sought permission to stage the `Chalo Tank Bund` protest. However, the request was turned down by the police.

JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy said, "This government does not have humanity. They are running the government with the force through police. Due to such statements given by the Chief Minister people are losing lives. All these incidents are not suicides but the murders committed by the government."

No money to pay September salaries, TSRTC tells High Court

The court was informed that the salaries of the employees were hiked by 67 per cent since the formation of Telangana state. They were given 44 per cent fitment in June 2015, which imposed a burden of Rs 900 crore annually. In July 2018, 16 per cent interim relief was provided to the employees at an additional cost of Rs 200 crore.
