Rosneft-led group acquires Essar Oil in all-cash deal for nearly $13 billion
Russia's state-controlled oil giant Rosneft and its partners today took over India's second biggest private oil firm Essar Oil in an all-cash deal valued for about USD 13 billion.

Russian oil giant Rosneft, together with Singapore-based trading firm Trafigura and Russia-based financial investor UCP are likely to acquire 97.4 percent stake in Essar Oil for about USD 13 billion. This transaction is expected to become the biggest foreign direct investment inflow into India.
