The Delhi High Court bench also underlined, "in our view, there is no doubt that the issuance of impugned notice by the DG is a step in furtherance of the investigation commenced in the suo-motu case, in which the investigation is a subject matter of the challenge in the present Letter Patents Appeal (LPA)."

Supreme Court issues notice to WhatsApp, Facebook, says 'We've to protect people's privacy'

The Supreme Court bench told counsels appearing for Facebook and WhatsApp, "You (WhatsApp and Facebook) maybe two or three trillion companies but people value their privacy more than money. It is our duty to protect their privacy."
