Assam Jatiya Parishad, as part of its 10-day 'Jatiya Sankalpa Abhijan' demanding repeal of the Citizenship Amendment Act, took out a protest march from its headquarters in Guwahati to the state secretariat in Dispur, raising popular slogan of the agitation 'CAA aami na manu' (We don't accept CAA).

Bandh to protest Citizenship Amendment Bill likely to affect Assam, neighbouring states
The bill seeks to amend the Citizenship Act 1955 to grant Indian citizenship to people from minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan after six years of residence in India instead of 12 even if they don't possess any proper document.
