Around 391 BRO personnel out of over 400 who were at work when the avalanche occurred on on Friday are said to have reached the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) camps safely, said CM Rawat, who undertook an aerial survey of the area to assess the damage.

Avalanche in Uttarakhand's Chamoli, alert issued
A BRO official confirmed the sliding down of a glacier in the area, where labourers are engaged in road construction work. A BRO team was rushed to the spot but there is no clue yet on the damage caused, he said.
