To make Vendakkai Poriyal, wash and slice okra. Heat oil, add mustard seeds, then urad dal, cumin, and curry leaves. Cook okra with spices, season with turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Sauté until tender. Optionally, stir in grated coconut and serve hot.
